Shih Tzu Judging

I had a great entry of 16 Shih Tzu and was pleased with the quality of entries. They all had wonderful temperaments and decent coats. Presentation was adequate but required more attention to finishing touches and a more natural looking topknot. Many appeared as 'transplanted corsages' taken from a box and glued onto the dogs with toooooo much hair spray. Too much emphasis was placed on racing the dogs around the ring instead of moving them in the effortless flowing gait as required in all Shih Tzu standards. My Winners Dog was Cheers Second To None owned by Dave Marcelino. Winner Bitch and Best Of Winners was Artemis Mega Winning Star owned by Alex Tan, Henson Tan. Best of Breed was Ch Hearty All Eyes On Me owned by Henson Tan, Alex Tan and Janice Lao. Runner Up Best of Breed was Ch. Ashbury Kiss My Twist owned by Lucianne Cham and Edwin Luy. Best Baby was owned by Augustine and Rose Kang. The Shih Tzu, judged in the Non Sporting Group like in Canada, went on to win Best In Group with Runner Up Breed winner winning 3rd in Group and the Baby was Best Baby In Group.
